The commercialization of products covered by a distribution network by a non-authorized reseller constitutes resale outside the network. EU law is very much in favor of outside network reselling because it often results in parallel imports, which it considers a factor in opening up the market. The prohibition of such sales is therefore only allowed in the context of selective distribution systems, where it is able to ensure the impermeability of the network (Regulation No 330/2010, Art. 1(1)(e).
